Create at least one gorgeous ‘instagrammable' space for pics: Use a balloon garland & place by the dessert table/ beverage station. Add the ‘baby’ balloon and some eucalyptus sprays (just tape these randomly on the balloons) and get ready to say cheese! Also, think about adding a balloon arch, with greenery, at the entrance to the house, along with the welcome sign and two clusters of pumpkins on each side of the entrance.
Here are ideas for balloon garland placement...
1) Balloon garland, pumpkins and welcome sign
2) Balloon garland outside, with pumpkins near dessert/ beverage table
Additional Tips:
If guests will be both inside and outside, ensure that you have music playing in both locations.
Florals - I would check Trader Joe's as soon as they open on the day of the shower. White hydrangeas and eucalyptus would work beautifully. Plan on one medium arrangement for the dessert/ beverage station, one medium for the gift table, one small for inside by the food. Buy extra eucalyptus sprays for the balloon garlands. One bunch for each garland should suffice. (SEE SHOPPING LIST SENT VIA TEXT)
Pumpkins - You can find white and pale peach pumpkins at many larger grocery stores. Make sure to get a variety of sizes and heights. You can also buy orange pumpkins and spray paint them white, to help keep costs down. Plan on 2 big clusters at the entrance (for each side buy 1 large pumpkin, 1 medium pumpkin and 2-3 smaller pumpkins of varying size), a small pumpkin and mini pumpkin for the dessert/ beverage table, and 1 more large cluster in the backyard (1 large pumpkin, 1 medium and 2-3 smaller pumpkins. Buy an additional two small and two mini pumpkins for the gift table and indoors food table.
Also, be sure to check with the mama-to-be to ensure that you aren't serving foods that make her feel nauseous.
Recipes:
Based on ~10 people, unless otherwise noted
Penne & Mozzarella Pasta Salad2 lbs from central market
Chicken Skewers
Order 2 dozen if you'll have more than 9 or 10 people, as you'll need at least 2 skewers per individual food box. If you will only have 7 people, ask Central Market Catering if you can order 1.5 dozen.
Individual Cheese Boards - Make sure all cheeses are pasteurized, so that the mama-to-be can enjoy this too!
Cupcakes - Store bought is totally fine to save time! Place these on a tiered dessert server on the dessert table
Custom Cookies are always a hit - Try Leyana Sugar Studio and use the mood board to send for inspiration. Let her know the baby's monogram or last initial if possible. These can be used as an easy party favor!
Drinks - Offer a variety of mini wine and champagne/ prosecco bottles/ cans to be COVID friendly, as well as bottled water and cans of sparkling water in a pretty beverage bucket. Add the cocktail napkins, florals and pumpkins to complete your beverage station.
Mocktail for Mom to be - Be sure to have a bottle of non-alcoholic bubbly for the guest of honor, mixed with a splash of cranberry juice for a nice, light drink.
Savory Food Table - This will likely be in the house, with food in boxes, so guests can remain socially distance, and grab a box for themselves. Add a small pumpkin, small floral arrangement and a candle to decorate.
Gift Table - Have the "Advice for Parents/ Wishes for Baby" cards here, with a few pens, one medium floral arrangement and a small pumpkin or two
