Ashleigh and Zack's Wedding Shower

Mood Board: Sunflowers, Burlap, Lace and Mason Jars create a romantic and rustic setting.

Styling and Hosting Tips:

Create an "instagrammable" space where guests enter the party, using the photo prop printout and polaroid camera... Invite guests to leave a little note on the pics for the happy couple! Leave the pics on the entryway console, for everyone to checkout later, once they develop.

Consider printing out photos of the couple from Instagram and FB to place around the party. These can be framed or just placed out on the tables.

Set up the wings or chicken nuggets and dipping sauces on a white platter on the dining table, along with the cheese and fruit platter and pigs in a blanket, both on rustic wood serving trays. Place plates, napkins and utensils next to the food. Utensils can be placed in a mason jar, so that guests can help themselves. This is a great place for a couple of floral arrangements in mason jars as well! These DIY florals can be created with sunflowers (link in excel sheet), or with white and yellow flowers that can be easily purchased at Trader Joe's.

Drink Stations: Set up your main drink station on the kitchen island. Place bottles of red wine on the counter, and use the large beverage bucket for the white wine, and half of the beer. Place wine glasses next to the bucket. If the weather is nice, place the other half of the beer outside in a cooler, to encourage movement and mingling.

Ensure that you have music playing inside and outside, if the weather is nice.

Florals: If you DO purchase the sunflowers we could do 7-9 arrangements in mason jars. If you do NOT purchase the sunflowers and want some florals, I recommend white hydrangeas and eucalyptus bunches from Trader Joe's.

9 hydrangeas + 1 bunch of eucalyputus would be sufficent for 3-4 mason jar arrangements. If you want to add in yellow, they will definitely have some options that can be used as filler (one bunch of a yellow filler flower would be enough).

Food Recommendations:

Focusing on the couples' favorite foods is key! Store bought options are always easy and time saving. You will find my recommendations and pricing in the excel sheet.

If you would rather make the pigs in blankets and wings, please see recipes below.

Pigs in Blankets
3 8oz tubes of crescent rolls
3 12oz packages of mini cocktail weenies
Everything But The Bagel Seasoning or Course Salt
Preheat oven to 375º. On a lightly floured surface, unroll crescent sheets and tear where perforated. Cut each triangle into 3 smaller triangles. Place one cocktail weiner on thick side of each triangle then gently roll to thinner side. Transfer to a medium baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and a sprinkle with coarse salt or seasoning. Bake until golden, 12-15 minutes.

Easy Baked BBQ Chicken Wings
10 lbs of chicken wings (thawed, if frozen wings)
20 ounces bbq sauce
4 tbsps of maple syrup
Scallions (optional, for garnish)
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Arrange wings in a baking pan. Mix barbeque sauce and syrup together in a bowl; pour evenly over wings. Bake in the preheated oven, flipping every 15 to 20 minutes, for 1 hour. Turn on oven's broiler and broil wings until golden brown, about 5 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted near the bone should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Garnish with sliced scallions (optional) and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
